Know your land.
Ask the right questions.
Land stewardship begins with understanding existing uses and the practical details of a proposal.
Care starts
with clarity.
Discuss where a project would go, what access it would need and how the land is used today. Ask what construction, maintenance and restoration responsibilities would be proposed.
These are discussion questions, not a statement of a company restoration policy or a commitment for a specific project.

Before you decide.
Existing use and access
Describe farming, grazing, access routes or other activities on the property. Ask where the proposed project and its access would sit, and which activities could continue during construction and operation.
Responsibilities over time
Ask who would handle construction impacts, ongoing maintenance and any restoration. Request an explanation of what is proposed, when the work would happen and whom you would contact with a concern.
The proposed agreement
Ask how the requested land use, access, duration, payments and responsibilities would appear in the proposed agreement. Note anything that is unclear so you can discuss it with the project team and any advisers you choose.
