Preparing for your first conversation
Use these three prompts to prepare. Have your mailing address, name and email ready when you submit an inquiry.

Start with a place
Make a note of your county and state, and describe how the land is used today. The form asks what you would like to discuss, your complete mailing address and contact details. Your mailing address can be different from your land’s location.
- Where is the land or community you want to discuss?
- How is the property used today?
Name what matters
Begin with saving for retirement, college costs, another potential source of income or a local community need. Note any timing that matters. You can choose “I’m exploring” if you have not settled on a goal.
- What would you like an opportunity to support?
- What would you want to preserve about your land or community?
Bring your questions
Use the first conversation to understand whether there may be a fit and what information would be useful next. It carries no obligation to participate. Keep a note of unanswered questions and anyone you want to include.
- What information would help you understand the opportunity?
- Who else would you like to include in the next conversation?
